Chiang Mai Trip is an independent travel guide dedicated to Chiang Mai and the escapes you can realistically reach from it — the moated Old City and its temples, Doi Suthep mountain, Nimman's cafés, the Ping River riverside, plus day trips to Chiang Rai, the Golden Triangle, Pai, Doi Inthanon and Chiang Dao. Our mission is to plan the trip you actually want, honestly: which elephant "sanctuaries" are genuinely ethical (feeding and bathing, no riding) and which aren't, whether a Doi Inthanon or Doi Suthep day is the right fit, and which "day trip from Chiang Mai" is a comfortable excursion and which one quietly means an early start and a long drive.
